What the cancellation button has to do
If you sell subscriptions to consumers in Germany through your website, cancelling there must be just as easy. The law describes four building blocks.
A clear button
Verträge hier kündigen
, clearly labelled, always available and reachable directly.
A confirmation page
where customers give their name, the contract, the type of cancellation and the date, then send it with "jetzt kündigen".
An immediate confirmation
on a durable medium, with the date and time it was received. With Kuendbar that is the confirmation page, which customers can save and print.
A record
so customers can keep their cancellation and you can trace later what arrived when.

How it works
Set up in three steps
No customer account, no back-and-forth, no retention offers between the button and the confirmation.
Install and place the button
Install the app, place the "Verträge hier kündigen" button in your theme, for example in the footer, and enter your sender details.
The customer cancels in two steps
Click the button, check the details on the cancellation page, press "Jetzt kündigen". No login needed.
Confirmation, matching, log
The customer sees a dated confirmation. Kuendbar logs the cancellation; with Pro it also matches it to the subscription orders.

Confirmation with date and time
Customers see a confirmation with the date and time of receipt straight away, which they can save and print; the cancellation is also in your log. Once email sending is set up, a confirmation email also goes to the customer and the shop.

Questions
Which subscription apps does Kuendbar work with?
Kuendbar works with the orders in your Shopify store, so it does not depend on the subscription app: for example Appstle, Recharge, Loop or Shopify Subscriptions.
Kuendbar records, confirms and logs the cancellation. You end the subscription itself in your subscription app, by hand or with a Shopify Flow workflow started by the Kuendbar trigger.
Do my customers need an account?
No. Customers cancel without logging in, with their name, email address and a contract reference such as the order number.
Is there a retention step or a discount offer?
No. Kuendbar goes straight from the button to the cancellation page and the confirmation. There are no retention offers, surveys or pause options in between.
Does this make my store meet every legal requirement?
We cannot promise that. Kuendbar is a tool, not legal advice. Whether your store meets every obligation also depends on your contracts, terms and theme. Please have it checked by a lawyer.
What data does Kuendbar store?
The details from the cancellation form, with Pro the matched orders, and the date and time of receipt and confirmation. More in the privacy policy.
What happens after 5 cancellations on the Free plan?
Your customers can still cancel: the cancellation is accepted, saved and confirmed. You are asked to move to the Pro plan at $7.99 a month (unlimited cancellations). Upgrading and billing run through Shopify.
